How it works

Three steps, no account

STEP 01

Share your location

Or type a PIN code, anywhere in India. The list re-sorts by distance from you — nearest first.

STEP 02

Check what they have

Printer model, build volume, nozzle, and the materials and colours they keep in stock.

STEP 03

Message them directly

Reveal the contact and work out the part, price, and pickup between yourselves. 3DPO takes no cut.

Have an idle machine? Get found by people nearby who need a part. Anywhere in India, takes a minute, costs nothing.

New listings are checked once before they appear, usually within a day. You can edit or remove yours yourself, any time.

Your listing has its own private link — it was emailed to you when you signed up. Open it to change anything or take yourself off the map. Lost it? Put your email in and it'll be sent again.

FAQ

Questions

Is 3DPO free?

Yes, both sides. It's a directory, not a marketplace — you and the owner agree the price between yourselves and 3DPO takes nothing.

Do I need an account?

No — nobody signs up for anything. Owners fill a form and get a private link by email that lets them edit or delete their own listing. No password to forget, no account to close.

Where does my location go?

Nowhere. Distance sorting happens inside your browser. The site records that a contact was revealed, so useful listings can be told apart from dead ones — not who revealed it. Full detail on the privacy page.

Are exact addresses shown?

No. Map pins are offset by roughly 500 metres from the PIN code centre, and only the area and city are published. Most owners print at home, so the address is theirs to share once they've spoken to you.

How do I change or remove my listing?

Yourself, in about ten seconds. When you sign up you get a private link by email — open it and the form fills with your details. Change anything and save, or hit Remove and you're off the map straight away. No password and no account to cancel; the link is the key, so don't forward it. Lost it? Ask for it again.

Who sets the price?

The owner. As a rough sanity check: most of the cost is machine time, not plastic — a part that takes eight hours costs more than one that weighs the same but prints in two.

What if the print comes out wrong?

That's between you and the owner. 3DPO doesn't vet quality, hold money, or settle disputes. Ask for a photo before pickup and start with a small job.

Which cities are covered?

Any of them. Type any Indian PIN code and the list sorts by distance from it. Coverage is thin in most places right now — that only changes as owners add themselves, so if your city is empty, be the one who fixes it.

Someone far away is nearest to me. Is that useful?

Probably not. Printed parts are awkward to courier and the whole point is picking one up nearby. If the closest owner is hundreds of kilometres away, treat the listing as a sign the map hasn't reached you yet.

About

One page. One problem.

There are hundreds of thousands of idle 3D printers sitting in bedrooms, college labs and small workshops across India, and no way to find the one that's fifteen minutes from you. Meanwhile people needing a single bracket wait five days for a courier from another city.

3DPO is the smallest thing that fixes that: a map, a list of what each owner actually has, and a way to reach them. No quotes, no escrow, no commission — those can come later if this turns out to be worth building. Right now the only question is whether anyone wants it.

Built by one person, in the open. If a listing is wrong or you want yours removed, say so and it's fixed the same day.

Support the project

Free, and staying that way

3DPO doesn't take a cut, doesn't run ads, and doesn't sell anything. Hosting is free and the domain is the only real bill, so there's not much to fund — but if this found you a printer, or found you a job, you're welcome to throw something at it.

Nothing here is behind a paywall and nothing ever will be. Listings don't move up the list for money.
